Jack's Peak is a little piece of paradise 5 minutes from Monterey! It is a Monterey County park that has Bar b q pits, and picnic tables at the top! Jack's rises approximately 1000 + feet above sea level, giving the visitor AN absolutely breath taking view of Monterey Bay, AND surrounding area. It had miles and miles of hiking trails, AND JUST the walk up from the street to the top is 2 miles! At about 3/4 like UP there are parking spaces for 14 vehicles, which basically all have a view of the bay! It's free to park in this area, AND $5.00 to enter the park. A yearly PASS CAN be purchased for $80.00. You'll possibly see wildlife on your hike, deer, birds , falcon, Buzzards , or if your lucky, some wild Turkeys! Many people walk the road UP to the top, AND aside from periodic traffic, it's an awesome and challenging grade straight up for 2 miles . A good workout! Although close to the city, it is very WILD and picturesque! Well worth the visit for visitors or locals!
